SRI AMAN: Nanang Enterprise won the bid to do upgrading works worth RM500,000 for Ciyun Temple, a Simanggang Soon Heng Society project, through a draw of votes carried out by Sri Aman Division Resident’s office recently.

The temple located at the Sri Aman Waterfront is part of the town’s tourist attractions because of the uniqueness of its construction characterised by a concept adopted from China.

The letter of offer (LOO) of the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project to Nanang Enterprise was presented by the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development II Datuk Francis Harden Hollis to the company’s manager, Dyrol Gana Lindex, witnessed by project manager Watson Chaking.

The implementing agency for the project is the Sri Aman District Council (MDSA).

The project started on Oct 26, 2022, and is expected to be completed by April 25, 2023, and has the construction of an elevator and a gate ordered from abroad as its main components.

In his speech, Harden, who is also Simanggang state assemblyman, reminded all parties involved in the implementation of the project to work together and focus on completing the project on schedule.

He said when completed, the temple will be an attraction for people from within and outside Sri Aman to visit Simanggang Town while touring other interesting places in Simanggang Town.

Meanwhile, in a separate event, Harden officiated at a tree planting ceremony at Taman Lalulintas here, organised by Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) in collaboration with MDSA and KEC International (M) Sdn Bhd.

It was held as part of SEB’s commitment under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to meet the target of planting 500,000 trees within 10 years.

In his speech, Harden praised SEB’s efforts in maintaining green environment by holding a tree planting campaign and reducing the destruction of trees on the cable routes.
