Application for Form G (1) - Certificate of Clearance of Indebtedness
Form G(1) - ”Certificate of Clearance of Indebtedness” is a certificate to certify that all properties within same title lot and land district that registered with a Local Council has no outstanding assessment rates and legal fees and not caveated by the Local Council.
Apply for Update Owner / Rate Payer Information with Local Councils
The owners or ratepayers can update their information to ensure that the information registered with the Local Council are correct and up-to-date. The information allowed update are :  Name & MyKad No (due to wrong spelling/typo/missing IC)  Race  Phone number  Email  Billing address
Apply for Rebate of Assessment Rates
Property owners can apply for a reduction or rebate of assessment rates if the property/building is unoccupied and unused for a period of not less than 3 consecutive months with the following term and condition: The building is not undergoing repair works, remains unoccupied and unused The building is in good condition and fit for occupation; The owner has make reasonable effort to obtain a tenant; The rental demanded is a reasonable; and The building has been vacant during the whole period for which the rebate is claimed.
Application for Transfer of Ownership of Rateable Holdings with Local Councils
Transfer of ownership of rateable holdings is important to make sure the assessment bill being issued to the correct owner. It is the duty of the seller/transferor and the purchaser/ transferee to give notice of transfer to the Local Council by apply for transfer of ownership of rateable holdings.  
Apply for Payment of Assessment Rates by Installment
This service is for owner who wish to apply for payment of assessment rates by installments due to high outstanding bills. The Local Council will issue installment bills upon approval.
Apply for House Numbering and Referencing of Rateable New Holding
Property owner can register new property with Local Council in order to get a proper property address. Assessment bill will be issued to the new property where assessment rates is depend on the valuation by the Local Council.
Apply for Remission of Rates
The owner who are in a state of poverty can apply for exemption of whole or partial assessment rates payment.
Application for Withdrawal of Caveat with Local Councils
Local Council will lodge caveat on land title of a property at Land Registry Office when any rates imposed to a rateable holding (including all assessment rates and any other moneys in respect of services rendered by ratepayer) not paid. The owner who wish to get the Local Council to withdraw the caveat will have to apply for this service.

Nama 'Sri Aman' diambil sempena Peristiwa Bersejarah Deklarasi Sri Aman (satu perjanjian keamanan yang ditandatangani pada 21 Oktober 1973 di antara kerajaan dan pengganas komunis). Penukaran nama ini dikuatkuasa melalui SWK.L.N 42/80 of Part II of Sarawak Government Gazette di bawah tajuk Simanggang (Change of Name) Order 1980.

Sarawak local councils unite for joint virtual Earth Hour 2025

The MBKS building with its lights off during the Earth Hour 2025 programme tonight. – Photo by Chimon Upon KUCHING (March 22): The Kuching South City Council (MBKS), along with 25 local authorities across Sarawak, simultaneously switched off their lights tonight in observance of the Joint Virtual Earth Hour 2025 programme. While MBKS participated via video conference, the main event was hosted by the Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC). Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng emphasised that Earth Hour serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility toward environmental sustainability. “Our communities are working together to protect the future of our city, our state, our country, and our planet. “From recycling waste to reducing electricity consumption, we are all committed to making the world a better place by adopting eco-friendly practices in our daily lives. “Today, we are demonstrating how small actions can make a big difference, and how individuals can come together to drive collective change,” he said. As part of this initiative, cities turn off their lights for an hour at a designated time, symbolising the need for environmental protection through reduced energy consumption. “Here in Kuching, we have participated in Earth Hour for several years,” he noted. During his speech delivered via video conference in Sibu, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian encouraged the newly established Gedong District Council to prepare for its participation in next year’s programme. Dr Sim also announced that the Sri Aman District Council will serve as the official host of Earth Hour 2026. “I trust that they will carry forward this initiative with the same dedication and commitment as SRDC, ensuring that next year’s event reaches even greater heights,” he said in his text speech read by Deputy Public Health, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Michael Tiang.
